CONNECTING LOCAL CHURCHES – DEVELOPING COMMUNITITES
About CPI Church Partnerships:
At CPI, we believe in the centrality of the local church within God’s plan to redeem this broken world. In fact, the anchor of our strategy in Haiti is the planting and multiplying of local churches where people can hear and respond to the gospel and experience true life change. As Haitians choose to follow Christ through P.A.M. evangelism, they are encouraged and equipped to follow him right into his Father’s mission to change their world.
We also believe this is the call of Christ for those who follow him here in the US as well. The power and presence of Jesus, in individuals and churches, compels them to join Him as he seeks to restore a broken world. This would include their home, neighborhood, workplace, community, country and ultimately any place in the world God gives them opportunities to participate in His mission.
Churches that engage their people in life-changing mission grow and experience the power and presence of Christ. It is clear that we need to engage here in the US and maintain a meaningful mission to the people God has placed us among. However, the Great Commission also calls us to love beyond our borders and around the world.
Unfortunately, the closest most American Christians ever get to fulfilling that call is the annual slide show during “missions emphasis week” or mailing a check to a huge organization that is actually doing the work in another country. Neither of those is wrong, they just fall woefully short of engaging the mission personally. We believe people want to do more than just send money and pray. We believe that God intended every follower of Christ to engage in his worldwide mission.
CPI has created an opportunity for a limited number of churches in Central Florida to partner with us and join the work of God in Haiti.
Often times, missionaries and missions organizations are only equipped to receive your prayer and your financial support. We have created an organization that not only allows for but desires ongoing participation from local churches and their members. In this way, we can all be transformed!
Partnership Commitments:
A partnership is formed when two parties make mutual commitments towards a common goal or outcome. Establishing a partnership with CPI would involve the following commitments:
CPI Commitments:
- To offer your church a personal, hands-on connection with the entire scope of CPI and PAM mission and vision (US and Haiti). This would include volunteer opportunities with ongoing projects, serving on the CPI Board or sub-committee, and applying unique gifts/abilities on special events.
- To organize and lead a group mission trip once each year for your church
- To offer opportunities for church members to participate in CPI sponsored Transforming Travel opportunities throughout the year
- To provide 2 annual updates to congregation during corporate gatherings (Sunday service, leadership meeting, Sunday School, etc.). This update would include full multi-media and specific results of your church partnership.
- To provide monthly e-newsletters and updates that can be downloaded, printed out and distributed or forwarded to church email lists.
CPI Partner Church Commitments:
- To make a relatively significant monthly contribution to CPI for 12 months (annually renewable). The point here is that we want this partnership to be reciprocal and represent a significant commitment and focus from your church.
- To pray for the work of CPI – informed by the Prayer Team List of needs and opportunities.
